The Hitters

Round 4 kicks off with the first of 28 seasons. He is joined by fellow Hall-of-Famer Luis Aparicio and Bernie Williams, Matty Alou, Luis Gonzalez, Nelson Cruz, Chili Davis, and on-base specialist Eddie Joost. A top 4 finish or a .500 record is the only guarantee to remain in the tournament and move on to Round 5.

The Results

Rickey Henderson redeemed himself, taking the pennant on the strength of his stolen bases. He is joined by Chili Davis, Bernie Williams, and Luis Gonzalez in moving on to Round 5. Despite leading all teams in hitting, we bid a fond farewell to Matty Alou. He, Eddie Joost, Nelson Cruz, and Luis Aparicio have been eliminated.

Season Highlights

  • Matty Alou had the top 6 places in individual batting average with Alou2 leading everyone with .329. He also stroke 201 hits on the season.
  • Nelson Cruz0 led everyone with 30 HRs.
  • Unsurprisingly, Rickey Henderson dominated in the stolen base department. Six different Hendersons surpassed 100 steals with Henderson3 swiping a league-leading 131.
  • Nelson Cruz had a 20-game hitting streak.
  • Meakim5 and Dean4 each pitched in 63 games.
  • Davis7 and Cruz6 each had 3-HR games.
  • In one game, Eric Davis shutout Chone Figgins 15-0.
