Mickey Mantle was clearly in control and Zack Wheat acquitted himself well-enough for a 2nd place finish as Reggie Sanders, Roger Maris, Riggs Stephenson, and Eddie Joost battled until the final series for the remaining automatic advance slots. In the end, Sanders finished 3rd and Maris and Stephenson tied for fourth. Joost, Konerko, and Richardson head to Round 4.
