Round 6 Season 18

Roy Thomas-Featured-Card for Baseballs Greatest Player Playoff

The Hitters

Roy Thomas’s claim to fame was his ability to foul off pitches and his ability to work opposing pitchers for a base on balls. Not a lot of pop, though, so we’ll have to see how his particular skill set plays out against the formidable pitching here in Round 6. Also in the mix are two big stars of the 1980s, Kevin Mitchell and Keith Hernandez. They will bring a little punch and a little batting average to bear. Hall-of-Famer George High Pockets Kelly and old-timers Henry Larkin, Herman Long, and Paul Hines, plus Curtis Granderson make up the rest of the field. This is an elimination round, so a .500 record is the only guarantee that the hitter will see Round 7.
