The Results

Ernie Lombardi started strong and then pushed through the final week of the season to snag the first place flag from the surging Jake Beckly. Chone Figgins had a terrific April and then coasted through the rest of the schedule to take third and the final Round 7 slot. Derek Jeter had a chance but lost on the last day of the season and Ken Griffey Sr., despite leading all teams in batting average and having a positive run differential, fell short of a .500 record. We’ll see how his boy does in Season 12. Kuhel, Duncan, and Wise are also finished in the tournament.

Season Highlights

  • Decent batting averages this season, with Griffey Sr. topping the league at .321.
  • Lombardi led the teams with a respectable 257 HRs and Lombardi9 with 31 of his own.
  • Beckley3 had 58 doubles.
  • Figgins3 had 20 triples. Beckley8 had 18.
  • Beckley99 had a 3-HR game.

No-Hitters

7/20 Christy Mathewson1 of the Derek Jeter team pitched a gem of a no-no against Sam Wise, winning 3-0. Matty struck out 8 and walked only two.
