Round 5 Season 9

Rogers Hornsby Featured card for Baseballs Greatest Player Playoff

The Hitters

Rogers Hornsby brings his prodigious combination of power and average as he hopes to continue his domination. Fellow Hall-of-Famer Kiki Cuyler brings a bit of pop and good speed to see if he can upset the favorite. They are joined by Bobby Abreu, Joe Dimaggio‘s little brother Dom, Steve Finley, Gil Hodges, Nomar Garciaparra, and Pee Wee Reese in this qualifying round.

I am personally hoping to see something interesting from a Steve/Chuck Finley match up!

The top four advance immediately to Round 7.

Not qualifying for Round 7 were DiMaggio, Finley, Garciapara, and Pee Wee Reese, who’ll try their luck in Round 6.
