The Results

Lou Gehrig finished the season on a 16-game winning streak, demolishing the competition on his way to 121 victories. Ken Williams had a solid performance, winning a respectable 90 of his own and finishing second. Fred Lynn defeated Mike Griffin on the last day of the season, to tie the Sam Crawford for fourth place, securing a slot in Round 7. Parker, Frederick, and May head to Round 6.

Season Highlights

  • Lou Gehrig showed why he is a favorite to end up in the finals, leading in most of the offensive categories, batting .301 and nailing 452 homers. Gehrig4 led individual batters with .337.
  • Gehrig8 slammed 58 HRs with four Gehrigs over 50 and finishing and monopolizing the top 9, all over 40.
  • Sam Crawford3 led the league with 18 triples.
  • Gehrig8 had a 26-game hitting streak.
  • It was a long season for Lee May but a bright spot was a 21-3 drubbing of Sam Crawford where he stroked a total of 27 hits.
  • Parker7, Parker5, Gehrig9, and Frederick6 had 3-HR games. Gehrig8 did it twice.
  • No-Hitters
  • 6/25 Chuck Finley of the Dave Parker squad blanked Fred Lynn, 8-0. Finley walked 2.
