The Hitters
If we just went by the numbers, there would be FIVE Hall-of-Famers in this season. But, things being what they are, Mark McGwire and Alex Rodriguez will have to defend against those who have obtained their Cooperstown Credentials. Zack Wheat, Joe Tinker, and Robin Yount will strut their stuff against Bob Elliott, Rip Radcliff, and Elmer Valo as we enter the last five seasons of Round 5. Only four are guaranteed to move on to Round 7, so a .500 record is a good idea.

The Results

Bob Elliot won the final two games of the season head-to-head against Zack Wheat and that was enough to secure a tie for first place. ARod folded down the stretch, allowing Mark McGwire the opportunity to tie him for third. Elmer Valo got hot when the weather did but it was not enough to make it to .500. He and Yount, Radcliff, and Tinker will see action in Round 6.
