Gone before his time, Ross Youngs had a brief, but Hall-of-Fame career and he is our top seed today. Fellow HOFers Mickey Cochrane and Charlie Gehringer will make certain his path is not an easy one. Also in the mix are Lance Berkman, Patsy Donovan, slugger Sammy Sosa, Sam Wise, and Red Murray. Four slots in Round 7 await.

The Results

Ross Youngs did what he does best, out hitting the others with a .293 team batting average and claiming the top slot. Mickey Cochrane combined a solid average with timely power to snag second. Lance Berkman scored third place while Charlie Gehringer finished 6-1 in the final week of the season to secure a fourth place tie with Sammy Sosa. Patsy Donovan, after a horrendous April, managed to get it together and finish over .500 and also claim a place in Round 7. Only Wise and Murray failed to qualify and will head to Round 6.

Season Highlights
- Ross Youngs8 led individual batters with a .318 average.
- Sammy Sosa3 was the top power hitter with a surprisingly low total of 31 homers.
- Youngs2 had a 25-game hitting streak.
- Mickey Cochrane defeated Patsy Donovan, 5-3 in 21 innings. Frank Killen3 pitched valiantly, going 8 2/3 innings, allowing 5 hits but still got tagged with the loss.
- Several players whiffed five times in a single game but only Red Murray2 managed to do it in five at bats.
- Sosa6, 8, and 3 all had 3-HR games.
- Ross Youngs4 had quite a day at the plate, going 4 for 4 with a double, two home runs, and eight RBIs.
