The Results

Jack Clark took 2 of 3 from Joe Medwick in the season’s final series to snatch the pennant by a single game. Frank Baker did a fine job holding on to third place, while Wally Berger managed to hang on to fourth and a .500 record. Decent performances from Dawson and Buhner proved insufficient, as they join Stephenson and Anderson in Round 6.

Season Highlights

  • Joe Medwick set the pace with a .301 team batting average while Medwick6 led individuals with a .345 average.
  • Berger hit a surprising 371 home runs as a team with Berger3 leading the league with 49.
  • In the space of 4 games, Berger3 had two 3-HR games. Buhner7, Berger8, and Clark7 also had 3-HR games.
  • Berger2 went 3 for 5 with two homers, one a grand slam good for 8 RBIs. Buhner7 got 7 RBIs in his 3-HR game.
