The Hitters

Sliding Billy Hamilton looks to be the one to beat this season but he will face tough challenges from Hall-of-Famers Duke Snider, Kirby Puckett, and David Ortiz. Ben Chapman, Curt Flood, Mark Teixeira, and Ross Barnes and his .360 lifetime batting average in an all too brief career will also state their case for moving on to Round 7.

The Results

Billy Hamilton cruised easily to the top of the league, combining his batting average, lots of walks, and a significant number of stolen bases to out score second place Duke Snider by almost a run per game. David Ortiz cranked a number of home runs to join Ben Chapman for the last two slots moving to Round 7. Ross Barnes was in a solid position to qualify at the All-Star break but faded down the stretch. He, Flood, Puckett, and Teixeria head to Round 6.
