The Results

It was the Barry and Willie show this season as Bonds held off a late challenge from his godfather to take the pennant by two games. Chick Stahl and Willie Keeler also qualified to move on to Round 7 while the rest will have to fight it out in Round 6.

Season Highlights

  • Keeler8 led all hitters with a .326 average, but even a high average won’t cut it without some walks and power to turbocharge your offense.
  • Bonds3 smashed 45 homers to lead the league. 4 other Bonds filled the top 5.
  • Keeler8 finished the season on an active 35-game hitting streak. Baby Doll Jacobson2 finished the season with a 31-game streak of his own! Two different Frisches had 21-game streaks.
  • Joe Mauer8 took the horse collar with a 5 K game.
  • Bonds3 and Bonds8 each had a 3HR game. Bonds3 had 8 RBI in that game.
  • What a game this must have been! Mauer vs Grace: Grace starts off the first inning against Livan Hernandez with 5 straight hits, knocking him out of the box. Adonis Terry comes in and gives up a triple, a double, and two more singles before finally retiring the side, score: 8-0. Second inning, Terry gives up a lead-off homer and 6 more hits, until Carruthers comes in and pours gasoline on the fire as Grace bats around AGAIN! Finally, Frank Killen manages to shut things down but the score is now 19-0. Killen ends up with 6.1 innings and a final score of 22-3.
